Art Can Save the World

About and contact

Make art useful again.

An independent initiative asking a simple question: could hidden art and a small share of extraordinary wealth help end poverty and hunger?

Our purpose

We want to put a bold, workable proposal into public debate — and then test it honestly. Art Can Save the World is not a charity, a fund or a legal body. It is a concept looking for collaborators: museums, owners, patrons, experts, humanitarian organisations, artists and citizens.

We believe art can make solidarity visible. We also believe that any new public resource must add to public aid, never excuse its withdrawal.

Where the idea came from

The concept grew from a brainstorm between Andréa Pijl and Gunter Segers, as credited in the early campaign materials.
